1. Why do you write fanfiction? What made you start?

I really enjoy writing; fanfiction just gave me the outlet I needed. What got me started, actually who got me started, was Robin of Merry Men Press. After I'd bought every zine she has for sale, she informed me it was time to start giving back to the fandom. She was helpful, encouraging...and relentless.

2. Slash, Het, or Gen

Mostly slash but there are a few fandoms where I can't see it so I read or write gen there.

3. What fandoms do you write in?

Primarily K/S, though there are a few in Lancer (a long-forgotten Western.) Only one in UNCLE so far and a WIP in Pros.

4. What fandoms do you read in?

K/S, Pros, UNCLE, Alexander/Hephaistion, Batman/Nightwing for slash. Lancer and KF:TLC for gen.

5. What's the worst story you've ever written?

The first one. It was awful.

6. What writers are your inspiration?

I can't really say any of them are. I can really enjoy reading their work but I don't find inspiration there for my own. It's sort of like comparing apples and oranges.

7. WIP's or completed stories only?

Completed stories only, to post and to read. I won't go near a WIP, I've been burned too often. My own WIPs are safely stored on my computer, waiting for completion.

I was hoping that you'd do it, after you commented on mine.

I think that there's a lot of similarities in people's answers to these questions, despite our differences as people and in our likes.

Only one in UNCLE

We need more.

so far and a WIP in Pros.

Just keep working on it...

I certainly want to write more MFU. And I'm still plugging away on the Pros story. :-)

Are any of your Lancer stories online? Because that would be a blast to read. I haven't seen the show since it aired, alas, but Johnny Madrid isn't easily forgotten.... :)

I enjoyed reading the meme. I am totally inspired by Sebastian. Every time I reread one of her stories, I get all jived up to write even though I'll never hold a candle to her. But that's not really the point (that is, writing as well as someone whose style I admire--though, of course, it would be nice!). The point is the excitement her virtuosity with words inspires. I just love that feeling when a writer not only thrills me as a reader but also as a writer.

Well, my favorite was the other brother, so my stories tend to highlight Scott. :-) I'll be posting them here eventually, but if you're still interested here's where they're archived right now.

Oh, I love her work, though I have to say I think my favorite is Ellis Ward. Her work doesn't tend toward the dark as much so, though there are some dark stories I number among my favorites, I seem to prefer Ellis's lighter touch. I've reread "The Return," a couple of dozen times.

Oh, those were great to read. Thanks for the link. They brought back all sorts of little memories of the show; it's amazing what lingers after years when I thought I'd forgotten all but the major points about the show and the characters. But their meeting, when Teresa calls out "Lancer", your story brought right back to mind so I was seeing it all again as though on film. All three of the stories have a melancholy air, focused on the dead and loss, that really struck a chord. I recall Scott's sadness and the pressures on him, caught between his grandfather and his newfound father and brother. Also enjoyed seeing Johnny through Scott's eyes. They were a great pair, complementary, as you have Scott reflect. As contrasting in personalities as looks, but fitting together well.

That was an unexpected treat. Thanks!

I really enjoy The Return, too. I've read the beginning in particular numerous times; it hits some of my kinks in delightful ways. My favourite Ellis Ward story, though, is probably Bodie's Letter; perhaps not surprisingly, it's one of her more sombre ones. :g:

So glad you liked the stories. It's been awhile since I've written in the fandom but I hope to get back there soon; along with Spock, Scott the other character who's stayed with me all these years.

I never realized until you mentioned it that all the stories are quite melancholy. I suppose Scott's situation being what it was, it's a obvious connection to make to the stories since I wanted to start at the beginning of his journey and work from there. Happiness was yet to come, for him and Johnny.

As to "Bodie's Letter," I do like that one, too, even with the separation. Sometimes, sombre is nice, even for me. ;-)

I could see the beginnings of peace for Scott at the end of "Burden of Shadows" as he made the first tenuous connection with both his father and Johnny. I was disappointed the stories stopped there, actually; didn't let me go further along with Scott into his new life as he acclimated because I was so enjoying the trip. Very glad to hear you might write more.
