It's starting to get busy, but I still managed to watch quite a few movies. And not a bad one in the bunch!

MOVIES WATCHED IN NOVEMBER.

Nov 9 - Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017)
Captain Jack Sparrow searches for the trident of Poseidon while being pursued by an undead sea captain and his crew.
Directors: Joachim Rønning, Espen Sandberg
Stars: Johnny Depp, Geoffrey Rush, Javier Bardem, Brenton Thwaites, Orlando Bloom, Keira Knightley, Paul McCartney

After reading so many bad reviews about this movie, I was almost afraid to watch it. It turned out to be really quite good. And I love how they tied everything up at the end.

Nov 13 - Jaws (1975)
A giant great white shark arrives on the shores of a New England beach resort and wreaks havoc with bloody attacks on swimmers, until a local sheriff teams up with a marine biologist and an old seafarer to hunt the monster down.
Director: Steven Spielberg
Stars: Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary

An old favorite that I never get tired of. While they’ve made sequels, I doubt they could ever match this one.

Nov 17 - The Mummy (2017)
An ancient Egyptian princess is awakened from her crypt beneath the desert, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension.
Director: Alex Kurtzman
Stars: Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Russell Crowe

Another one that I was expecting not to like. But while it’s not up to the 1999 remake, it’s still pretty good. It sort of looked like they were expecting to make more, but, after how badly it did, I doubt that will happen.

Nov 17 - The Last Word (2017)
Harriet is a retired businesswoman who tries to control everything around her. When she decides to write her own obituary, a young journalist takes up the task of finding out the truth resulting in a life-altering friendship.
Director: Mark Pellington
Stars: Shirley MacLaine, Amanda Seyfried, AnnJewel Lee Dixon, Anne Heche

Not quite what I was expecting, but quite good.

Nov 18 - Gifted (2017)
Frank, a single man raising his child prodigy niece Mary, is drawn into a custody battle with his mother.
Director: Marc Webb
Stars: Chris Evans, Mckenna Grace, Lindsay Duncan, Octavia Spencer

This is a great movie. There are funny moments, and sad ones, and ones that really tugs at the ol’ heart strings. I highly recommend it.

Nov 20 - Before I Go To Sleep (2014)
A woman wakes up every day, remembering nothing as a result of a traumatic accident in her past. One day, new terrifying truths emerge that force her to question everyone around her.
Director: Rowan Joffe
Stars: Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth, Mark Strong

A good, solid movie. And the ending was a surprise.

Nov 22 - Wonder Woman (2017)
When a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, Diana, an Amazonian warrior in training, leaves home to fight a war, discovering her full powers and true destiny.
Director: Patty Jenkins
Stars: Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Robin Wright

I really enjoyed this. There are fight scenes, but they didn’t go on for forever, like in so many superhero movies. Maybe Jenkins should direct all of DC’s movies.

Nov 30 - 8 Days a Week: The Touring Years
A compilation of found footage featuring music, interviews, and stories of The Beatles' 250 concerts from 1963 to 1966.
Director: Ron Howard
Stars: The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, George Harrison. Whoopi Goldberg, Elvis Costello, Eddie Izzard, Sigourney Weaver

I learned a few things I hadn’t known about the Beatles, but the most enjoyable thing was seeing and hearing them in candid situations.
