That's the thing. She was being described as almost saint-like, at the same time that she was having this affair. She practically glowed. *g* I know most of this was made up, since little was ever written about women during that time, but I thought the author went a bit overboard in making Katherine sympathetic. As if the author wanted the reader to totally overlook the affair. Katherine could do no wrong, though, in time, it became clear that she most certainly did do some things very wrong.
But that's my only complaint, so, yes, it was an interesting book. 🙂
